Peninsula Ballet Theatre 2009-2010 season promises a visual splendor from first curtain rise to final curtain call. The season begins with a celebration of the 15th annual presentation of Director Emeritus, Carlos Carvajal’s traditional classic ballet Nutcracker. Inspired by a young girl’s dream, Nutcracker is everyone’s favorite family friendly ballet directed by internationally renowned Bruce Steivel, newly appointed Artistic Director of Peninsula Ballet Theatre. Featuring full symphonic orchestra conducted by Chris Christensen, known as one of the finest ballet conductors in America; everyone enjoys this heart-warming holiday confection. Following the exquisite, sparkling finale audience members are invited on-stage to meet the dancers. You will applaud every breathtaking moment as you enjoy the magic that only Nutcracker brings. Not all professional performing dance arts occur in "The City." Peninsula Ballet Theatre is a calm alternative to the issues parking, expense and unsavory aspects of San Francisco entertainment. As the largest employer of professional artists on the Peninsula, Peninsula Ballet Theatre prides itself on being the second oldest professional dance company in the Bay Area serving San Mateo County, San Francisco and the East Bay.
