Pre Ballet: (3-5 years old) This 45-minute class teaches very basic ballet to our youngest dancers, with fun and games to keep each child engaged while learning the basics of rhythm and coordination in a fun nurturing atmosphere.
Intro to Hip Hop: (4 - 7 years old) Dancers learn the fundamentals of hip hop with different activities, this includes an introduction to choreography.
DANCE DIVISION - One or more classes per week
Hip Hop 1: (Ages 8+) For new hip hop dancers.
Beginning Ballet Technique/Level 1: (Ages 6 - 9) Our most beginner technique class for young dancers just starting ballet or who have graduated from pre-ballet.
Elementary Ballet Technique/Level 2: (Ages 8 - 12) The next level up from Beginning Ballet/Level 1. More complex barre and center work are introduced to dancers as well as pre-pointe training.
Intermediate Ballet Technique/Level 3: (Ages 12 + For dancers who have moved up from Level 2, this class is by placement only. This class will meet at 4:15 M/W/F and Saturday at 11. We recommend a minimum of 3 classes per week if your student plans to go on pointe.
Advanced Ballet Technique/Level 4: (Ages 13+) Our most advanced technique class for students with several years of dancing experience who are currently on pointe. This class will meet M/T/Th/Fri at 4:15 and Saturday at 11 starting July 8th.
Apprentice: (Ages 13+) Some students may be invited to apprentice with our professional ballet company. Class requirements for Apprentices are minimum of two advanced classes per week plus Tuesday and/or Thursday evening Company rehearsals from 6:30-9 and Saturday from 11 - 4. Advanced pointe class must also be taken.
PERFORMANCE DIVISION - For those who wish to concentrate on ballet and are serious about their dance training. By promotion or placement only. Classes include 1.5 hours of technique from dance division with an additional half-hour - hour of pre-pointe, pointe, variation, character, choreography, contemporary and other performance skills. We place students in class by age and ability.
Beginning/Level 1 (ages 6 - 9): Prepares the student for children’s roles with the professional company. Learn choreography, technique and artistry. Recommend total of 1.75 - 3.5 hours per week.
Elementary/Level 2 (ages 8 - 12): Focus on pre-pointe to prepare for pointe work that will begin in the second semester of Intermediate/Level 3 Performance Studies. Learn intricate variations, choreography. Introduction to contemporary/lyrical ballet. Recommended total of 3 - 7.5 hours per week.
Intermediate/Level 3 (ages 12+):
If on pointe for less than one year or preparing for pointe must come 2 days per week plus Saturdays including Beginning Pointe. Total 7 hours should be taken per week, we highly recommend every Level 3 student take Saturday Beginning Pointe. Class by placement only, any new students 11 and older with at least 2 years of ballet training are welcome to take a placement class at any time.
Advanced/Level 4 (ages 13+):
Recommended 4 technique with 4 performance studies classes for a total of 9 hours per week. Preferred schedule is Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday plus Advanced Pointe. If the goal is to apprentice the corps de ballet student should also add Level 3 classes for a recommended minimum of 12.5 hours per week.
