Please note that some students may be scheduled to perform specific dates and times. This is at the discretion of PBT casting. Even if your student is cast for certain dates/times, they must be available for all performances.

Audition Information

PBT Nutcracker Audition: Saturday, September 17, 2022 at PBT Studios, 1880 S Grant St, San Mateo, CA 

 

The PBT Nutcracker Audition is open to ALL interested children ages 7-17 with little to no dance experience, to advanced level.

 

In order to attend the audition on September 17th, you MUST register for Nutcracker Audition in DanceStudio-Pro. If you do not have a DanceStudio-Pro account, click here to create your account

 

There is not a dress code requirement for the audition, but all students should wear ballet shoes.

Important information, please read carefully!

 

Should your child be selected to participate in PBT’s Nutcracker, they must enroll and attend at least one ballet technique class at PBT. If you are unsure what level your child should be enrolled in, please email conservatory@peninsulaballet.org

 

REHEARSALS

Rehearsals begin on October 1st. 

Rehearsals are typically scheduled in one- to three-hour blocks of time between 12:30pm and 6pm every Saturday and are subject to change. Students MUST attend all scheduled rehearsals. There is limited rehearsal time available for productions and students should plan to be at every rehearsal. If your child is absent due to illness you will need to contact Company & School Manager Chloé Watson at artistic@peninsulaballet.org as soon as you know they will not be able to be at rehearsal.

 

Rehearsal Schedules will be emailed in early October and are subject to change. 

 

Plan on the following Tech/Dress Rehearsals:

  • Tech/Dress for Sweets

  • Tech/Dress rehearsals at the Fox

  • The youngest participants are released from tech/dress rehearsals as early as possible

 

Students must follow the PBT Dress Code for all rehearsals. 

  • Hair pulled back off the face and neck

  • Black leotard, pink or flesh-tone tights, pink or flesh-tone ballet shoes; OR white or black solid-color t-shirt, close-fitting black pants or leggings, black ballet shoes. Dancers working on pointe may wear pink or flesh-tone pointe shoes.

  • Level 5: Dancers may wear any color leotard

 

Student and Parent Contracts must be signed prior to October 1st.

 

PARTICIPATION FEES

The Participation fee is $415 per student ($375 for a sibling student in the same family). This fee covers all costuming needs, rehearsals, and other costs associated with the production. Sibling discounts are available. Please email conservatory@peninsulaballet.org for more information. No refunds on participation fees.

COSTUMES

All costumes are property of PBT and will be returned to PBT following the performances. 

 

PARENT OBLIGATIONS

  • Mandatory Parent Meeting on October 1st

  • Parents are required to sign up to volunteer during the rehearsals and performances

  • Volunteer shifts are available during rehearsal time, the week prior to the performances at PBT and the Fox, during Sweet and Fox Theatre performances and packing/unpacking after the Fox

  • ALL FAMILIES are required to volunteer throughout the production period

  • Volunteer shifts are available with wardrobe, dressing rooms, boutique sales, props, flyers, program ads, special events, and coordination

  • Details about the volunteer shifts, sign-ups, options available if you are not able to help during shifts, etc. will be discussed at the Parent Meeting on October 1st
