A Statement from Peninsula Ballet Theatre

Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and Tony McDade put faces to the murders of our black and brown citizens that have been happening for over 400 years. Peninsula Ballet Theatre, along with ballet and performing arts companies across America, continues to take a stand for racial justice and equality. We create art and we believe art is a tool that can shape humanity. Our artists, faculty and staff are committed to being allies and active promoters of diversity and inclusion.  By providing a loving and caring environment for our diverse students, families, company members, faculty and community we seek them and encourage their active participation in both our art and the world as a whole.

At Peninsula Ballet Theatre, we value all employees, students, volunteers and job candidates as unique individuals, and we welcome the variety of experiences they bring to our company. As such, we have a strict non discrimination policy. We believe everyone should be treated equally and with respect and kindness regardless of race, sex, gender identification, sexual orientation, national origin, native language, religion, age, disability, marital status, citizenship, genetic information, pregnancy, or any other characteristic protected by law. Any employee, student, board member, volunteer or client who believes that s/he or any other affiliate of Peninsula Ballet Theatre has been discriminated against is strongly encouraged to report this concern promptly to the Executive Director.
