Open to new and returning students

2017-2018 Auditions set for September 23rd!

We are excited to announce two new student companies, PBT2 and PBTroupe. 


We invite any student, new or returning, enrolled in at least one class at PBT for Fall 2017 to audition for our student companies.


You must be enrolled by September 23rd..


Our Student Companies will perform at special events throughout the greater Peninsula. PBT2 and PBTroupe will give dancers an opportunity to further develop their dance and performance skills. Mayne of these events will be scheduled during the summer. You will need to turn in a conflict calendar by October 1. 



  • It is open to students enrolled at PBT in Intermediate A and Advanced Performance Studies by August 29, 2016

  • Students will perform a variety of dance styles including classical, contemporary, lyrical and jazz or hip hop



  • Is open to all students in our Performance Studies Division. 

  • Students must be at least eight years old and currently enrolled in Beginning, Elementary or Intermediate Performance Studies. 



Results will be sent to the parents via email by October 1.

Program FAQ

Please keep in mind that we are in the early stages of planning. We will provide additional information and details as they become available. Below is the information we have at this time.


Q: What is the schedule for rehearsals?

A: TBD. Rehearsals will be most often in the evenings and weekends as needed. The schedule will be communicated as the information becomes available. Our tentative schedule is one hour on Saturday afternoons starting in January, the season will run through August 31st, 2018.


Q: What is the performance schedule?

A: We are working on scheduling events and will announce them as soon as we have things confirmed.

Students will perform mostly during the spring at various events throughout the greater Peninsula. We are in the planning stages and will announce performance location and dates as they become available. There will be an opportunity to perform at the San Mateo County Fair and other festivals during summer months. 


Q: What is the dress code for performances?

A: Costumes will be provided by PBT, students will travel to and from performances in PBT logo wear that will be included in the participation fee. We do recommend that you buy your student a modesty leotard for quick changes.


Q: Is there a fee to be in the program?

A: Participation fee to be determined based on rehearsal and costuming needs.


Q: Are there any costs?

A: We plan for the participation to be all inclusive. It covers rehearsal time, logo wear, travel bag and costume rentals.


Q: Is there a parent volunteer commitment?

A: 10 - 20 hours per family for January - August. 


Q: How can parents/families help?

A: There are endless opportunities for families to volunteer and support our student companies.


Q: Are there any specific areas I can help with?

A: Yes! We are looking for one-two parents to oversee communication for each student company.


Q: What will be the main method of communication?

A: A secure website will be available to student company parents with all forms, contacts, rehearsal and performance information. We plan to use TeamSnap for all communication.
