Summer Camps

PBT is excited to announce our 2023 Summer Camps!

With 4 amazing summer camp options for all ages and abilities you are sure to find the perfect camp for your family.

Each week of camp will have a designated theme which is sure to spark creativity and keep your student active this summer. Most camp participants will also have the opportunity to perform at the end of the summer.

Summer Camp Deposit: $50

First-Dance

My First Dance Camp

Camp Registration

Morning Session: M-F 9-10am

Afternoon Session: M-F 4-5pm

Cost: Deposit $50 + $70 tuition per week

Ages: 3-6

My First Dance Camp is the perfect summer camp for our youngest aspiring dancers. Students ages 3-6 will learn and explore basic ballet and dance movement in a fun, creative way. Parents will be invited to watch their students in a mini-showcase on the last day of camp.

Week 1: Around the World

July 10-14, 2023

Join us this summer as we go on a worldwide adventure in dance! Students will enjoy dancing to music from international cultures, The Nutcracker, and popular movies.

All students are encouraged to attend the July 15-16 Peninsula International Dance Festival to celebrate Around the World Week.

Week 2: Magical Fairytales

July 17-21, 2023

Morning Session only has been canceled

Join us this summer as we explore the world of dance through magical movie moments and storybook classics. Come dressed as a princess, sea creature, or superhero. Students will enjoy dancing to music from recent movie favorites.

Summer Dance Camp

Camp Registration

Time: M-F 10am-1pm

Cost: Deposit $50 + $205 tuition per week

(+$25 Performance Fee for Week 3)

Ages: 7-12

PBT's summer dance camp is for ages 7-12. Students will participate in classes such as ballet technique and choreography in addition to special classes on make-up, hair, and more.

Week 1: Around the World

July 10-14, 2023

In Week 1, students will have the opportunity to learn about world cultures through music and dance. Dancers will learn choreography from famous story ballets, and have special sessions on international dance. Students who participate in Weeks 1 AND 3 of camp will have the opportunity to perform in a showcase on July 28th.

All students are encouraged to attend the July 15-16 Peninsula International Dance Festival to celebrate Around the World Week.

Week 2: Wizard of Oz

July 17-21, 2023

This week has been canceled

In Week 2, we're off to see the wizard! Dancers will learn choreography inspired by the characters of the Wizard of Oz, and have a special class on themed hair and make-up. Students who participate in Weeks 1, 2 and 3 of camp OR Weeks 2 and 3 of camp, will have the opportunity to perform in a showcase on July 28th.

Week 3: Sleeping Beauty

July 24-28, 2023

Performance on July 28

Performance Fee: $25

In Week 3, students will learn choreography from the Sleeping Beauty, have special sessions on classical ballet hair and stage makeup, and learn about ballet pantomime. Students who participate in Week 3 of camp will have the opportunity to perform in a showcase on July 28th.

PBT Summer Intensive

Camp Registration

Time: M-F 10am- 4pm

Cost: Deposit $50 + $405 tuition per week

(+$25 Performance Fee for Week 3)

Ages: 13-18

PBT’s Summer Intensive Program is for students ages 13-18. Students will participate in classes such as ballet technique, pointe/pre-pointe, variations, choreography, yoga, floor barre, contemporary, and musical theater.

Week 1: Around the World

July 10-14, 2023

Week 2: Le Corsaire

July 17-21, 2023

In Week 2, students will learn choreography from the famous ballet Le Corsaire. In addition, they will attend relevant sessions on dance history and culture, as well as interactive hair and make-up workshops. Students who participate in Weeks 2 AND 3 of the intensive will have the opportunity to perform in a showcase on July 28th.

Week 3: PBT Repertory

July 24-28, 2023

Performance on July 28

In Week 3, students will learn choreography from contemporary ballets, including choreography by PBT Artistic Director Gregory Amato, and other featured choreographers. In addition, they will attend relevant sessions on dance history and culture, as well as interactive hair and make-up workshops. Students who participate in Week 3 of the intensive will have the opportunity to perform in a showcase on July 28th.

Musical Theatre at the Movies

M-F 10am-3pm ages 7-18
M-F 2-3pm ages 5-6

Cost:

Deposit $50 + $70 tuition per week (ages 5-6)
Deposit $50 + $340 tuition per week (ages 7-18)
$25 Performance Fee for Week 3)

Ages: 5-18

Musical Theatre Dance Camp is for students ages 5-18. Students will learn dancing, singing, and acting techniques. Classes will include ballet, tap, jazz and theater dance, singing/music appreciation, and acting workshops. Taught by PBT staff, who are also seasoned performers, students will gain the full musical theater experience.

Our youngest students will be partnered with older student "buddies," and will work together for the last hour of the day.

Students will have the opportunity to learn choreography and songs from movie musical favorites, with a different focus each week. Students who participate in Weeks 1, 2, and 3 of camp, OR Weeks 1 and 3 of camp, OR Weeks 2 and 3 of camp will have the opportunity to perform in a showcase on July 28th.

PBT Summer Dance Camp, week 2, Wizard of Oz has been canceled

Peninsula Ballet Theatre's 2023 summer programs will be conducted in-person only. All students that enter the studio must follow county and state guidelines, as well as additional safety guidelines and protocols implemented by PBT.
Cancellation Policy: A $50 nonrefundable deposit is due at the time of registration for all summer camps. If you need to cancel your summer camp registration PBT must be notified prior to July 4, 2023. Full camp tuition is due July 1st or upon the day of registration, if registering after July 4, 2023.
